M_001 Campaign | M3N3HUN3

I first came across Yatta's work when I was browsing through Native Books in Chinatown. A huge print of 3 ladies and their instruments was hung on the wall and I had to know who the artist was. I asked the bookstore who's work it was and they pointed me to his instagram. It was surprising and refreshing to see how relatable and low key this guy was and yet his work spoke so profoundly. Although the portraits he had taken were in current times, they seemed to transpire a legacy effect and evoke somewhat of a mysteriousness to the moment as well. Those were the two elements that really drew me to working with Yatta and why I really wanted him to shoot M3N3HUN3's first campaign.

Mystery in the spirit of M3N3HUN3 was appropriately represented in the method of wet plate as chemistry brought forth form from a vision. Legacy in the soul of M3N3HUN3 captured a progressing generation to honor the ones who came before. The ones who made it possible for me to be here doing this and not be shucking sugar cane, not be picking parsley, and not be cleaning houses of actors from Hawaii Five-O. Those are the souls that fueled me to push this brand into existence and however it manifests - it's beginnings are now and forever documented in time.
